The school website that runs itself, and passes every accessibility check.

Lumi is a website and content system built for K-12 districts. Staff edit pages without breaking them, AI drafts are checked against WCAG 2.1 AA before they can be saved, and the calendar, lunch menu and staff directory keep themselves up to date.

AI composer request

Make a kindergarten registration page with the key dates, the forms families need, and who to call with questions.

Checked before it can be saved

  • Passed: Every pane matches its schema
  • Passed: Every image has alt text
  • Passed: Headings run in order, with none skipped
  • Passed: Link text says where each link goes
  • Passed: Colors come from the district brand only

Draft ready for an editor to review and publish.

Edit without fear

Pages are built from panes: 28 reusable sections like news, events and board meetings. Preview on a phone as you work, keep drafts until you publish, and go back to any earlier revision.

How editing works

AI that follows the rules

Describe a page and Lumi drafts it from your own panes. Each draft is checked for alt text, heading order, link text and brand colors before anyone can save it.

How the AI is kept in check

Data that stays current

Calendars sync from Google Calendar, the staff directory syncs from Google Workspace, and menus are built from reusable meal cards. Nobody copies dates by hand.

What stays in sync

Two AI systems, both on a short leash.

Lumi uses Claude to help staff build pages and to help families find answers. Neither one gets to publish something inaccessible or make up a date.

The AI page composer

An editor describes the page they need in plain language. The composer builds it from Lumi's own panes, then every draft is validated:

  1. The draft is checked against the pane schemas and the accessibility rules.
  2. Any problems go back to the model for one corrective retry.
  3. If the page still fails, it can't be saved. Nothing inaccessible gets through.

It can also generate imagery from the alt text it wrote.

The Lumi AI page composer. An editor's plain-language request sits above a drafted page made from Lumi panes, with every accessibility check passing.

Ask, on every public page

Families type a question and get an answer drawn from the district's own pages, with links to every source. Questions about dates pull live calendar data, so answers are never stale.

Ask is rate limited and logged, and an insights dashboard shows staff what families actually ask, which is often the best guide to what the website is missing.
